Bad lighting, looking away

Natural lighting, at eye level

Better reference, better portrait!
High quality references help capture the details
The best reference photos for portraiture are taken up close at eye level and lit with natural light. If you can't decide, I'm happy to give suggestions. You can submit multiple photos that best represent distinct aspects you would like to capture. Photos can be sent by email or by postal mail. Physical photos will be returned to you with the final portrait.
Be involved throughout the process
A portrait of a loved one or pet is a deeply personal piece of art, and getting it right matters. That’s why I keep you involved throughout the process. I’ll share progress photos at key stages, giving you the opportunity to offer feedback. Whether it’s refining an expression, adjusting a small detail, or simply confirming everything feels right your input helps ensure the finished portrait reflects exactly what you envisioned.
